SCHEID VINEYARDS INC. ANNOUNCES INITIAL PUBLIC OFFERING

 

Marina del Rey, CA - July 25, 1997... Scheid Vineyards Inc. (NASDAQ: "SVIN"), announced today the initial public offering of 2,000,000 shares of Class A Common Stock. The common stock was priced at $10.00 per share with all shares offered by the Company.

Net proceeds of the offering are estimated to be approximately $17,500,000. The Company intends to use the proceeds it receives to repay indebtedness, to plant and develop new vineyards, and for potential acquisitions and working capital.

The Underwriters have been granted an over-allotment option to purchase up to an additional 300,000 shares of Class A Common Stock.

The Class A Common Stock is listed on the NASDAQ National Market under the symbol "SVIN".

Scheid Vineyards is a leading independent producer of premium varietal wine grapes. The Company currently operates approximately 4,950 acres of wine grape vineyards and produces 14 varieties of premium wine grapes, primarily Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chenin Blanc, Gewurztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc.
