Greenfield, CA - May 1, 2001 - Scheid Vineyards announced today that it will hold its Great Pumpkin Festival on October 20 and 21. As part of the festival, pumpkin growers of all ages are invited to bring their largest pumpkin to the Scheid Vineyards Tasting Room on Saturday, October 20, by 11:00 a.m. The Great Pumpkin Contest will begin at noon. A first place prize of $300 will be awarded to the grower of the biggest pumpkin. Other prizes will be awarded for character and originality. For optimum weight and size, pumpkins should be planted by May 15^th.

The Scheid Vineyards Great Pumpkin Festival will feature seasonal food, festive music and the award-winning wines of Scheid Vineyards. Activities include scarecrow making, pumpkin decorating, rides through the vineyards, arts and crafts for the kids, and a pumpkin patch.
